DIY Project- Make your own igloo

Last week, Gy was learning about types of homes as part of the EVS curriculum in school and the weekend project was to make different types of homes. She was asked to make an igloo. Generally, I outsource all 'artsy' work to my creative husband , but this time we decided I could make a go at it.

This was my first joint attempt with Gy, at a DIY project. And, it was actually fun to get down and dirty:)

We decided to combine it into a 'best out of waste' project.

Step-by-Step :

How to Make an Igloo

Items needed:

One halved coconut shell
Newspaper strips
White paper strips
Cardboard piece
Fevicol Glue
Paste made out of rice flour and water
Light-blue coloured pencil

Here is the final picture and Gy was so happy with it! With Dusshera around the corner, we hope we can use it as part of the Navarathri Golu set-up, provided it comes back home this week!

Here are some other DIY 'homes' made by Gy's friends:

The Kerala boat house, made using Styrofoam, chart paper, sequins and pins! Made by +Meenakshi Swaminathan  Swami and her daughter, Tharushee

The boat house, using styrofoam, colours and glue! Made by +Shobana Anand  and her daughter, Dhyeya

The igloo! Made by +Narayan Viswanathan and his daughter, Srinidhi!

Another igloo, made by Pavithra Srinivasan and her daughter, Shwetha!
Yet another igloo (seems to be the favourite :); This is by +Debapriya Ghosh  and her daughter, Trisha
